Face Update

So in no means am I pro in the make-up and beauty field, but I most certainly like a little experiment here and there. Below focuses on my recent 'go to' products i'm reaching for throughout the change of seasons.

Base: Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

After finding this product stocked in Sephora in Copenhagen earlier this year, I had to pick it up. Originally it was pretty tricky to source in the UK (entry stock in Harrods). Now i am incredibly fond of the smooth, matt packaging... but more importantly this formula is insane! If it's full coverage that you want with serious staying power this is the base for you. I dot an unusually minimal amount over my face which makes me think this product will last me a while.

Highlight: Barbara Daly Glow Up

This is an odd one. After snatching it from my mum's make up collection this glow highlighter is an absolute staple in my make-up collection. Now considering that this is a high-street piece I am yet to find an alternative that works as well as this. I tend to either mix it in with my foundation to create a superb dewy finish. Or/and touch up my cheekbones, under my brow, nose and cupids bow after applying foundation. I have repeat bought this so many times already and will definitely continue to do so.

Nars: Albatross Highlighter

Now in terms of finishing off a look, this has been my favourite powder high light to date (beating MAC mineralise skinfinish and Benefit).

Chanel: Rouge Allure Lipstick - Coromandel

Who can beat the classic chanel red lip. I always tend to reach for this product around the lead up to Christmas and it never fails to disappoint. An absolute make up staple in my eyes.

Bobbi Brown: Lip  Balm

Now some may not agree with spending a little bit more on something that can be as inexpensive as a lip balm. But if i'm completely honest, I absolutely fell in love with this monochromatic packaging, and the blush tint of the balm. Lip balms hang around for years therefore I am of course going to get my cost per wear. Plus I'll have a cute product i'm not afraid to show in a bag spill.

Bobbi Brown: Eye Palette

Creating your own bespoke palette is so ideal, I love choosing my favourite hues-it feels that extra bit special.

Bobbi Brown: Face Mist

Now I wouldn't class this as an essential, but this sure has helped me out a ton this summer. Spraying the mist gently halfway through the day really helps to refresh your makeup, and it also smells amazing!

Dropped Hem

Having being noticeable on my fashion radar for several years, plus having the accessibility to the scandi brand 'Monki' on ASOS is incredibly handy (and rather dangerous for my bank balance). The below shots were in all honesty taken a few weeks back in Sweden when it was still warm enough to venture out without a jacket. Nevertheless this dress can be disguised as a transitional piece moving forward to wear with sneakers and a bulky leather jacket, maybe. The fit and flare hem is love or hate style in terms of commercial appreciation, but seeing as though it's been sported by market mavens in an array of street style shots (ahem, LFW) confirms that it's a design that's most certainly good enough for little ol' me. This visit I again had a mooch in several of their Stockholm based stores and it's true, there is something v special about shopping brands in their native. Of course not able to come home empty handed i'll perhaps show you 'that' shearling coat i'm loving in a few posts down the line...

apartment tour - Nyhavn, copenhagen

So this was my second time back in less than 3 months. How could I possibly turn down 9.99£ flights though. This spontaneous trip back to the Danish capital turned out to be a super relaxing trip after finally handing in all my university work in (and uncomfortably waiting upon my degree classification).

Again, opting to check into another well spotted apartment via Air BNB we choose a different interior vibe, still full of natural light but the palette included muted neutrals and primitive brick walls.
I absolutely loved the open plan space, glossy white floors and oversized window frames.

The Apartment Tour - Copenhagen

So my previous post surrounding my stay in Stockholm began with a dissapointment from a host letting me down via Air BnB, I decided not to let this dampen my outlook so went ahead and booked a beautiful apartment in Copenhagen. Now this time everything went SMOOTHLY. No cancellations - nothing. Nothing but a seamless minimalist interior, plenty of reading material (we're talking everything from Cereal to Kinfolk), plus the owners kindly gave us access to their Netflix account! This was a such a considered apartment, so instagrammable and everything I look for in an interior, with much more space than the images show online. The high ceilings paired with floor length balcony doors allow natural light create a really airy space. White wash floors aligned with marble coffee table, glass trinkets and refined grey Bolia sofa fill the lounge. The bathroom and kitchen relatively smaller than the other rooms, but still intricately designed with state of the art equipment, an array of carafes and marble chopping boards. The bedroom designed with a hanging rail (such a great feature), standing light bulbs, balcony doors.. and if this room couldn't get any better the bed is topped with a memory foam mattress - HEAVEN!
