ASOS Denim - The MOM Jean

The Mom Jean.

Although the skinny jean may not be going anywhere, i've been perusing for something a little more boyish, something to give my day to day silhouette a bit of an upgrade. This particular pair from ASOS ticks off everything I'm looking for in a jean so when asked to style them, I of course jumped at the chance.

Slim leg.. Check
High Waist.. Check
Stretch Fibre.. Check

I'm becoming particularly attached to these beauties (I cannot begin to explain how comfy they are) and are most certainly a go to item on my rail. Below i've thrown on a knitted turtleneck followed by a belted dressing gown coat to keep that chill off. I've accessorised with mules, chunky framed sunglasses and of course my beloved Chloe foldover for a daytime look. To take them into the evening i'd pair a raw hem v-neck blouse, barely there heels and a fur bomber for a sophisticated nighttime appeal. Versatility at its best.

The Perfect Pointed Mule

As promised, for the direct link to the perfect mule click HERE. £12 worth of heaven. What an absolute steal from ASOS, I would however reccomend sizing up on these heels as they were a little smaller than expected. I think they look super expensive and can't wait to style them with anything from some paired down mom jeans and a supersize cuffed shirt, to slinky wide leg pants and a silk cami.
Think sophisticated dinner and drinks. You will most definitely see me wearing these to death throughout spring/summer.

Valentines Sunday

I had a rather casual Valentines weekend this year as I still had stitches in my eye from my little operation earlier in the week and didn't really fancy venturing out the house too far. Nevertheless I of course still dressed up for the occasion mixing my H&M skirt I wore on xmas day with a Topshop super soft sweater and my ASOS blue faux fur longline coat. I'll be taking this coat to Copenhagen as it's soooo warm and easy to throw over a dark ensemble. I've got a few exciting things in the pipeline for the next few months to balance out my chaotic uni schedule so keep your eyes peeled..

What to buy this payday

2016 for me is all about investment pieces. The term 'investment' to some may suggest that the item must be expensive, but it really doesn't have to be. Jeans, Jeans, Jeans, finding the right style can be daunting but once you've found your fit your set to go. After having the pleasure to converse with Sarah Harris (Fashion Features Director of Vogue) at UoN SFW it was clear that Jeans play a massive role in her staple wardrobe. When asked whether Harris sways towards one particular brand currently she responded without any hesitation 'Paige Denim is a favourite of mine..'. Feeling totally inspired i've had a little mooch and found some to try for myself (along with a whole lotta other thangs - of course). I'm about ready to start updating my wardrobe for spring, but i'm most certainly keeping sweaters and knits in sight for as long as possible.

Inside the box... Saint Laurent

After 2839712 unsuccessful YouTube video attempts, I finally accepted that the easiest/less embarrassing way for me to show you 'what's inside the box' would definitely be through a good old blog post. This was a very exciting buy for me as it's my first ever Saint Laurent purchase (that isn't in the form of makeup). In all honesty I've been on the hunt for some quality barely there heels for a while now, and of course the Saint Laurent Jane's have been at the tippy top of my list as they're such a staple piece... so after spotting these gems with a whopping 65% off it was clearly meant to be (thank u Harvey Nichols sale). I usually wouldn't go for a anything other than plain leather, but after seeing these in the flesh I decided the muted glitter totally makes them that bit extra special. I was also a little concerned about the 5'' heel, but they are surprisingly easy to walk in, it must be the support of the ankle strap. Overall this has been my absolute favourite January sales purchase to date, and cannot wait to wear these with anything from a floaty dress to androgynous cigarette pants. Eeeek its loooove!! Penultimate day in Stockholm + January coat wishlist

During our penultimate day in Stockholm we did some exploring in the old town 'Gamla Stan' after a buffet breakfast at Miss Voon and a wander through the library park directly outside outside our hotel. We had a pitstop at Lilla P before freshening up and heading out to Nosh & Chow to celebrate Jack's birthday. A number of people recommended to eat there as we would too. Nosh & Chow was the perfect mix of fine(er) dining paralleled with a sophisticated members only bar. The interior was most certainly to our taste (designed by Lazaro Rosa-Violan), even the bathroom was bloody brilliant. By the end of our evening there was a full house, packed with amazingly well dressed individuals and buzzing with atmosphere (as were every bar in Ostermalm) - good job we booked in advance.

- Above Details -

After returning to the UK Christmas was pretty much in full swing. This festive period has been crazy busy full of visiting friends and family, work and uni work. I managed to pop out to browse the January sales but oh how I prefer e-commerce these days. After coming home empty handed (other than white wash laminate flooring panels from B&Q-don't ask) I headed online. Obviously one site lead to another and ASOS managed to wangle a little splurge out of me... as well as Harvey Nichols (ok BIG splurge). Anyway, after finding so many dreamy coats with mahoooosive reductions (and now that the temperature is finally dropping) I have compiled a little wish list to share with you. All items have a clickable link below so you can shop right away.
I am dreadfully nosey and have found myself glued to watching 'Christmas Haul' videos-definitely a secret guilty pleasure of mine. So i'm considering dabbling in a bit of YouTube and filming my own. Hmmm. Well if I dare. Keep your eyes peeled if you want a laugh.
Have you bagged any sales bargains this year?
