What to buy this payday

2016 for me is all about investment pieces. The term 'investment' to some may suggest that the item must be expensive, but it really doesn't have to be. Jeans, Jeans, Jeans, finding the right style can be daunting but once you've found your fit your set to go. After having the pleasure to converse with Sarah Harris (Fashion Features Director of Vogue) at UoN SFW it was clear that Jeans play a massive role in her staple wardrobe. When asked whether Harris sways towards one particular brand currently she responded without any hesitation 'Paige Denim is a favourite of mine..'. Feeling totally inspired i've had a little mooch and found some to try for myself (along with a whole lotta other thangs - of course). I'm about ready to start updating my wardrobe for spring, but i'm most certainly keeping sweaters and knits in sight for as long as possible.

Inside the box... Saint Laurent

After 2839712 unsuccessful YouTube video attempts, I finally accepted that the easiest/less embarrassing way for me to show you 'what's inside the box' would definitely be through a good old blog post. This was a very exciting buy for me as it's my first ever Saint Laurent purchase (that isn't in the form of makeup). In all honesty I've been on the hunt for some quality barely there heels for a while now, and of course the Saint Laurent Jane's have been at the tippy top of my list as they're such a staple piece... so after spotting these gems with a whopping 65% off it was clearly meant to be (thank u Harvey Nichols sale). I usually wouldn't go for a anything other than plain leather, but after seeing these in the flesh I decided the muted glitter totally makes them that bit extra special. I was also a little concerned about the 5'' heel, but they are surprisingly easy to walk in, it must be the support of the ankle strap. Overall this has been my absolute favourite January sales purchase to date, and cannot wait to wear these with anything from a floaty dress to androgynous cigarette pants. Eeeek its loooove!! Penultimate day in Stockholm + January coat wishlist

During our penultimate day in Stockholm we did some exploring in the old town 'Gamla Stan' after a buffet breakfast at Miss Voon and a wander through the library park directly outside outside our hotel. We had a pitstop at Lilla P before freshening up and heading out to Nosh & Chow to celebrate Jack's birthday. A number of people recommended to eat there as we would too. Nosh & Chow was the perfect mix of fine(er) dining paralleled with a sophisticated members only bar. The interior was most certainly to our taste (designed by Lazaro Rosa-Violan), even the bathroom was bloody brilliant. By the end of our evening there was a full house, packed with amazingly well dressed individuals and buzzing with atmosphere (as were every bar in Ostermalm) - good job we booked in advance.

After returning to the UK Christmas was pretty much in full swing. This festive period has been crazy busy full of visiting friends and family, work and uni work. I managed to pop out to browse the January sales but oh how I prefer e-commerce these days. After coming home empty handed (other than white wash laminate flooring panels from B&Q-don't ask) I headed online. Obviously one site lead to another and ASOS managed to wangle a little splurge out of me... as well as Harvey Nichols (ok BIG splurge). Anyway, after finding so many dreamy coats with mahoooosive reductions (and now that the temperature is finally dropping) I have compiled a little wish list to share with you. All items have a clickable link below so you can shop right away.
I am dreadfully nosey and have found myself glued to watching 'Christmas Haul' videos-definitely a secret guilty pleasure of mine. So i'm considering dabbling in a bit of YouTube and filming my own. Hmmm. Well if I dare. Keep your eyes peeled if you want a laugh.
Have you bagged any sales bargains this year?

Location: Östermalm

After our dreamy apartment booking was cancelled by our poorly organised host just TWO WEEKS before we arrived in Stockholm, it was a bit of a sprint to find a hotel that would live up to our (already high) interior expectations. After minimal deliberation and lack of time I booked a hotel without giving my usual trip advisor/all over inspection (eugh-I know). Despite the rushed decision  Elite Eden Park Hotel truly delivered. Every aspect from the lounge area to the concierge team was ideal (I mean look at that marble staircase..). Location-wise - everything was on our doorstep, including the world renowned shopping district Biblioteksgatan. I'm already eyeing up flights to return ASAP.

Gift Guide - for Him

I wish I could say that males are easy to buy for.. but I'm wrong. The men around me tend to be fussy creatures and when asking for gift inspiration they either grunt and ask for the true detective box set or will have a lengthily list full of items that are wayyyy out of my budget e.g. 'For Christmas I'd happily settle for a Ferrari'...*sigh* So I've tried to get into the 20 something's male mindframe and consider what they would appreciate to receive (tbh I'd happily receive any of these myself - which may be where the problem lies). Nevertheless, here's my quick Gift Guide featuring a range of products at various price points. All products have a clickable link below so feel free to shop away! Christmas is just around the corner.

for Him

Whistles Wool Sweater, ASOS Silver Cuff, Acne Studios Cardholder, French Connection Scarf, Tommy Hilfiger Socks, Mondaine Watch, Aesop Bodycarei-D Magazine Subscription, Prada Luna Rossa AftershaveCOMME DES GARÇONS Sleeve, Hudson Chelsea Boots

EstellaBartlett.com

As you can probably note from my Instagram I have a major love for delicate jewellery. So after receiving a very kind email from Estella Bartlett I was v excited to collaborate. I've been a massive fan of their dainty, whimsical pieces for a few years now, and after wasting money on cheap high street jewellery (wearing them once to see my fingers turn green) I now believe it is always best to spend a little more on better quality pieces that will last longer. How beautiful is this sterling silver vintage plait ring - In love! I've added a clickable link to their new super cute e-commerce site: EstellaBartlett.com it's definitely worth a look at especially knowing Christmas is just around the corner (the longer length sterling silver wishbone necklace is on my wish list to Father Christmas).

I picked up the Chanel Le Vernis in 'Ballerina' whilst black friday shopping over the weekend. After much deliberating i'm so glad I purchased because it's the perfect sheer. Simple, sophisticated and easy to layer up to reach an array of desired finishes (plus the subtle colouring goes with almost every outfit in my wardobe - win win).
